–50 kg

–50 kg

Once I was asked if I was afraid of death, to which I replied that I was more afraid of not achieving anything that would make me stand out from the crowd, even for a moment.

I am afraid that I will leave this earthly life without having contributed anything to the greater good, but even more so that I will not bring out what is truly within me, making my existence meaningless and futile. Wasted talent, unlived life, the complete lack of exploiting our opportunities, the number of lost days that will never return. These are the true hallmarks of a failed life, which can be changed, but it takes more than cheap promises and the "tomorrow is another day" worldview of pity from the world. I used to think that standing out from the crowd meant accomplishing something that only a few are capable of, but by now I have realized that to create something truly lasting and inspiring, you don't have to change worlds; it's enough to put our own in order, so that others will copy us and talk about us.

Now, they are talking about a 21-year-old girl who has caught the eye of Cosmopolitan, and they want to publish an article about her weight loss. Betti's 50-kilo weight loss will give strength to many women because she showed that it can be done, and you can get up from anywhere; you just have to really want it, and the emotional torment caused by her body should not be treated with donuts, but with a lifestyle change, just as a broken leg is not helped by hitting it with iron rods. –50 kilos in less than a year, which perhaps would never have happened without LifeT!lt, and me starting to write. You can spit on me and tell me to go screw myself, that I'm such an arrogant, self-satisfied prick, but honestly, why would I give a damn when my activities change people's lives so positively?

I started writing this blog with these lines 2 years ago, and the essence hasn't changed since.

"The essence of the blog is to show through my own example how to change your lifestyle and that anyone who truly wants to can do it. I write down all my feelings, pains, sufferings, physical and mental state, so you can follow along, perhaps draw strength from it. It doesn't really matter, because ultimately I'm doing it for myself, but if you live healthier for just a few days because of my blog, or just because you read through this crap, I've already done more for you than 70% of the people around you."

I was overweight my entire life, so much so that by March 2012, I reached 122 kg. Of course, I tried all sorts of diets, and my parents always told me to lose weight. They often yelled at me, and we had huge arguments at home. I went to weight loss camps and medical examinations. I had no hormonal problems that could be blamed for my being fat. I wanted to be beautiful. Not like a model, but to bring out the best in myself. I wanted to be the best version of myself. When I first found the site, it was like a small spark went through me, like when you start a car and it begins to work. I WOKE UP.

LifeT!lt sculpted me into a person I didn't even know was within me, a kind of terminator. So, having a goal and caring about nothing else. You go and do it, you don't care what anyone says, how anyone criticizes, or what difficulties you face along the way. Thanks to LifeT!lt, there was never a moment when I said I would give up, or that's enough. If I had a low point, I just started reading the blog, and I immediately recovered. There was nothing that could have deterred me. Although there were times when some people told me, "Why are you doing this? Just because you have a few extra kilos, you don't need to be hysterical!" Once, I almost believed it, but no, instead I stood up 100 times and did it.”

If I hadn't found Tilt, I would never have succeeded, because as I read the little blurb, lightning struck me, and I told myself that this couldn't go on, there's no way I couldn't lose weight. My doctor even asked how I did it, because my test results were still good even after such a big weight loss, and my mom was so sweet and told the doctor, "Well, with Lifetilt." I knew it would be difficult, but I didn't expect what surrounded me during and still surrounds me after my weight loss. They hurt me. Those who don't know me personally hurt me, because they don't believe that such a thing can really exist; maybe this is also a bad Hungarian habit, that whoever is good at something must have cheated, lied, etc., etc., but they didn't. The few people who were with me throughout and my family know what I went through, and those who live in my environment. I go shopping with my mother, and they don't know who I am next to her; they look me up and down, they don't recognize me, so I'm not surprised that they find it unbelievable, but at least they should keep it to themselves.

When I started, I expected help from everyone, then Tomi once wrote this: "We are alone, and just because many people are standing around us wearing t-shirts that say 'friends' and 'family', we are still alone. Alone in a huge hall with our troubles, and it's useless to cry for help if no one hears it or wants to hear it besides us. Friends can be as close as they are, and we can go through fire for them, but we cannot expect our well-being and existential development from them." This was the point when I realized that I had to do this alone. And I've been doing it ever since...
