Energy Vampires

Negative people are everywhere, and like a fatal disease, they will eventually consume you if you don't sweep them out of your life. It could be an annoying neighbor, an acquaintance clinging to you, for whom you are the emotional trash can, a long-lost friend coming out of a relationship, but most often, it's simply a bitter person incapable of achieving their dreams, who gave up on their plans long ago. Energy vampires are happy when others are miserable; others' failures are their successes. Others' successes confront them with their own weaknesses, which they cannot tolerate, so they belittle and trivialize them. Energy vampires always stand still; they never move, at most downwards, but never upwards. If we pass by them, they try to stop us; if we are falling, they await us with open arms and joy, then, stepping on us, they push us even further down.

Consciously, but mostly unconsciously, they create situations where they draw from your life force. They need this because their own strength has significantly dwindled. They are full of negative feelings, mean, petty, or simply genetically not predisposed to a successful life. These people struggle with many problems, but instead of looking inwards, they see the world as the cause of all their troubles, where someone else is always to blame. They are incapable of moving forward alone; they always see saviors in others whom they keep by their side, and by seeing them suffer too, they temporarily feel energized because they need to see that it's not just them who are miserable, others also suffer, and this fills their dark souls with comfort. Energy vampires are devils cast out of hell, who slowly poison, and behind their smiles, there is always anger, doubt, and ill will...

Everyone has a friend who, when you meet them, always radiates optimism and strength, and when you are with them, you also see the world more beautifully and start to weave plans for the future. Energy vampires are just the opposite. If you talk to them, you feel emptiness and languor; you become grumpy and irritable after the encounter. It can often happen in old friendships that, after a while, the other person becomes a burden, and even in a relationship that started as a fiery love, you can feel that your partner suffocates you with their problems. Of course, not every friend in need or going through a rough patch is calculating or an energy drainer, but it's wise to be careful with those for whom this is a constant characteristic. These dirtbags are otherwise easily recognizable. Whatever you say, be it negative or positive, they always one-up it. If you talk about some achievement of yours, it's peanuts compared to theirs, but for them, a breakup also hurts more and longer, because, after all, their relationship was different from the average, and not to mention, they lost a stable source of energy. Negative people are full of inferiority complexes, which usually stem from the fact that...

1. if he is a man and short, that's why; if she is a woman and tall, that's why.

2. simply a defective person

3. ugly and/or fat

4. in a worse social situation than where they place themselves, but either lack the strength or the chance to do anything about it

They try to reduce these complexes by forcing others to their level. If they talk about themselves, they constantly appear in the role of a martyr and sufferer. They are the ones always standing under pigeon droppings, or their garden gets pissed in, but every single one of their failures is, of course, due to others. They are never satisfied with anything; next to the word pessimism in the dictionary, you will probably find their beaten-up face. In their presence, you don't dare to say good things out of tact; instead, you also dig up appropriate, sympathetic, and saddening stories, and with that, your downfall has begun.

Everyone knows those people who, after 5 minutes of acquaintance, have already told you their entire life story, from their parents' frustration-filled marriage, through their workplace problems, to describing their burnt-out, negative life. The best example of this is homeless people, who seize every opportunity to spew shit on you if you accidentally get into a conversation with them. The more you learn about a person within a given time, the more certain you can be that they should have been pushed under a train a long time ago.

Such people are conspicuously cordial and kind until they realize what purposes they can use you for. During supposedly sincere conversations, they seek out your weak points, and when you are talked about in company or at a work lunch, they stab you in the back so everyone laughs at you or whispers behind your back, then, of course, they apologize like "oh, I didn't mean it seriously," and "it was just a joke, and it's not true that you can't take a hint." This kind of asshole only talks to you when you are alone, but if there are others in the company whose friendship they consider more advantageous, they won't give a damn about you. They constantly joke, draw attention to themselves, and find joy in being able to tell as many people as possible that they know them, and what great buddies they are, and about shared experiences, but of course, this is not true.

I guess some of you recognize yourselves now, but that's okay; it's good to be aware that in my eyes, your value is lower than a milk carton at a scrap yard. Avoid such people for your own good. Unfortunately, due to the growing crowd, more and more such people have appeared on Tilt, but don't worry, if they reach a critical level, I will take appropriate action..
