The Secret Part 1

By the end of the 20th century, most ideologies had degenerated, only for the first decade of the 21st century to completely dismantle everything that once meant something. Most ideologies and trends, after the rampant 60s and 70s, became hollowed out and incapable of renewal by the 80s. This was excellently exemplified by the insanely kitschy color and style trends parading as fashion, and the easily digestible, meaningless musical soundscapes – not to mention the birth of horrors like synth-pop, and the complete lack of culture that creates value. The sexual revolution had subsided, emancipation movements had achieved their goals (which women still don't know what to do with today), and political life seemed to be calming down after a heightened, three-decade-long Cold War tension. However, looking back, despite its amusing nature, the 80s still entered history books as an important and defining decade because the world radically changed in every respect during these years, and by the 90s, the image of a new, cruel financial world began to emerge, which we have been suffering the consequences of for several years, and where, by the way, there are no longer people, only consumers.

In the early 90s, during the great economic boom, a process began that is now rampant and thriving. This process has led to a society that is dumbed down, intimidated, long deprived of its rights, and long stripped of its ideologies. Since the mid-90s, global media has been raising generations, and aggressive marketing surrounds everyone from a very young age, to the point where no one even notices that we have become robots operating on simple impulses, responding to single-word buzzwords, to whom anything can be sold, as long as companies find the right colored box for it, which many fools buy without any questions or reservations. We "like" things on Facebook, we share something if we like it, but preferably an image from demotivational posters with some five-word clichéd life truth. Three thousand likes a day, and everyone has expressed their individuality for the day and communicated the depth of their thoughts to their surroundings. But it's no different when we shop. Is it colorful? We buy it. Is it delicious? We eat it. It doesn't matter what's in it, because if the box is shiny and the taste is good, who cares what's inside, right? If someone doesn't understand something, they don't read up on it or Google it for information. We are not used to independent thinking, we haven't grown accustomed to it. We are used to getting everything ready-made and preferably immediately; if we need something, we buy it; if we require something, we have the money, and we get it. A picture is presented to us, accompanied by a catchy text, and if they make us believe that this will positively change our social status or make us look better, then we are almost certain to buy it...

Ah, but unfortunately, this won't really work with dieting, but since women are on the other side of the table, the question is not what they buy, but when. Now, or 20 minutes later. It's like first sex. Not on the first date because, you know, I'm not a whore, but on the second, yes, which could even be the next day. But if we are clever and our marketing is right, then in a significant number of cases, it will work on the first date too. You have to tell a woman something twice for her to think about it, and three times for her to buy it, especially if it's white, pink, or God forbid, sparkling. Companies know this too; it's no coincidence that women have become the primary target group for all major corporations. Women simply need cycles that run in their minds, in which they rationalize even the most astonishing nonsense to themselves. You have to give them a little time to convince themselves why what they're doing isn't bullshit, and why it makes sense to get into the wildest absurdities, even if it's total insanity and nothing can explain it. Every woman knows exactly which man will screw her over badly, but they convince themselves why not, why he's different from the others, and then, of course, there's a big fall and perhaps even real tears, even though she knew exactly from the beginning that this would happen. Men know how to fool a woman, what to tell her, how to treat her in a way that she doesn't feel like such a whore. The leaders of companies do nothing else but transfer this method into the consumer world, and the only difference will be that they don't want to get into women's panties, but into their wallets, and just as a woman's legs open easily to the right words, so will her wallet. The disappointment with products will be just as frequent as the times she gives in to asshole men. Do you sleep with a clueless jerk? It's not the men who are the scumbags, you're the naive idiot, my dear. Do you buy half a kilo of flour in a box disguised as some bogus diet product that screams fake and shoddy quality junk? The manufacturer is not to blame, but the one who is stupid enough to buy it despite all that. It's that simple, because you know, there are only con artist jerks as long as there are gullible, brain-dead birds.

We are dumbed down in the crudest way, and what's saddest is that this is done to us consciously and systematically, because a stupid person doesn't suspect, and there's no problem with a stupid person. A thinking society, on the other hand, is dangerous, because eventually, large masses might realize they are being taken for fools, and in a fit of anger, they might find a few government buildings to vandalize. Multi-level marketing, as its name suggests, is one of the crudest and most disgusting forms of marketing, a method which, in my opinion, is no different from the techniques of common criminal fraudsters, and only God knows why these cult-like formations can still operate legally. But then again, there will only be whores as long as there's demand for them, and as long as gullible idiots constantly regenerate, there will always be a few moss-brained wild brutes who will believe in the MLM system, even if years later, with a diamond rank in their ass, they're still making cold calls from a mall coffee shop.

The dumber a mass of people, the easier it is to feed them the foulest crap. In the exhausted 80s, marketing experts and advertising agency creatives realized that messages that were more effective than ever before and that reached the deepest psyche could only succeed if they played on people's emotions, their religious consciousness, or their trust in the world of science. The culmination of this process and the manipulation of dumbed-down people is the film "The Secret", released in 2006, which is the number one bible for every lost salesperson and every MLM system. The essence of the film is the message of the law of attraction, which states that if you believe in your development and focus on positive things, you will attract them, and your dreams will eventually come true because every thought emits vibrations, and like attracts like. The film further conveys that our lives are controlled by our thoughts, whether we are aware of it or not, because thoughts have creative power. What we think about and believe is possible becomes reality. So, to achieve success, all you have to do is believe in it and constantly think about your goal, and success will one day become a reality because mental success attracts it in reality...

BULLSHIT.

This is utter nonsense, a haven for self-deceiving, delirious idiots. I can picture all those useless self-improving jerks listening to CDs in their cars and reading self-help books, waiting for salvation, and absolutely believing in such wishy-washy garbage as the law of attraction, positive thinking, pragmatic Christianity, practical metaphysics, or even divine science. Does anyone really believe that their life will get better and they'll have more money if they wallpaper their living room with pictures of their dreams and that beach house they want to buy? But how? So, if I sit in my armchair and strongly believe that two incredibly hot women will walk in, lottery ticket in hand, and jerk me off, will that eventually happen?

Never, I repeat, never will anyone achieve anything in life if they don't work hard for it, and if their determination isn't followed by a devastating, wall-breaking resolve. You, my mother, will never lose weight just by strongly but positively thinking about a slimmer figure. This nonsense is a crutch for lazy failures, and anyone who believes in it instead of actually working for their success, rather than trying to figure out how to make their first million by reading books, is a pitiful fool. The law of attraction does exist, however, but not in the way of "I believe in it, period," but rather "I believe in it and I act." Now, that's different.

My mother had a great saying she used to illustrate the differences and gradations of the class ladder and the differences between castes at every level: "A doctor can mop floors, but a cleaner cannot perform surgery." This is somehow how faith and action work. Faith and confidence alone are worthless. Prayer and thoughts have never helped anyone, but action, persistent work, and humility always bear fruit. Deeds guide this world, because imagination and thought alone are not enough. You have to work for it and not look back, just keep moving forward and not pray to any God, because no God will help you if you just sit at home and rot away like a rusty car in a junkyard.

I rarely pray, but even then, I say nothing more than, "Please, Lord, just this once, don't stand in my way," and that's the most I can ask for, because you, or anyone else, won't get more anyway. This isn't heresy or pagan beliefs; it's simply a mindset that prevents me from deluding myself and getting excited about things I want to get without putting in work and energy. This is called crime, or worse, a psychological illness. So, if everyone would do themselves the favor of not indulging in false notions and not expecting the upliftment of their destiny from some trendy, well-marketed, easily consumable ideology, then perhaps there's still a chance to achieve something in life, because without actions, believe me, you won't even get to the point of sadly greeting the person you could truly be...

End of Part One...
