Dani 62 days later

   Day 62: 94.7 kg                                        Day 0: 110.2 kg

I like this kid, Dani. He's a tough guy, he has pride and courage, which can't be said for 80% of men nowadays. About 2 years ago, we started a business with an asshole who messed around with repayments. When we went to collect the money, Dani came along, and he didn't chicken out even in the rougher situations. When I say pride, I mean that in the last summary, I undoubtedly portrayed Dani in a negative light, as I thought he was slacking off on the program. Whether that was true or not has become completely irrelevant, because since then Dani has pulled himself together and has set the bar quite high, which he consistently jumped over. This is how he managed to run 3 km continuously during our KSI run, sprinting for about 200 meters at the end, and then, as you can read in his report below, he ran the longest distance of his life: 5.1 km. It might not seem like much, but we're talking about a person who had 40 kilos of excess weight just 2 months ago, and still has at least 20 extra. If everyone had this kind of ambition and desire to prove themselves, the pharmaceutical mafia wouldn't be rubbing their hands raw over their 8,000% extra profit, which is thanks to a life without sports and bad eating habits...

By the end of the first program, I planned a 20-kilo loss, but Dani needs to reach 88 kg. Don't ask me why that specific number, he said that's his goal, but anyway, on day 62, we've almost reached it. The weight loss process will probably slow down now, because even though Dani still has plenty of excess weight, his body is starting to realize that serious weight loss is happening, and since it doesn't know when this process will end, it will slowly start to apply the brakes. In such cases, the body needs to be "kicked in the face" with a so-called refeed day, meaning you trick it by having a day where pasta and carb-rich foods are allowed, thereby deceiving the body and restarting and accelerating metabolic processes. I haven't talked about refeed days during weight loss yet because it's too delicate a topic, and I'm afraid you're not ready for it. You would cling to it, and the refeed day would turn into a chain of failures marking the end of the program, but it's good to know that such a thing exists. A refeed day is an important and necessary part of the diet process, but as I mentioned, it's also very dangerous because not everyone will be able to pull back on the reins.

The only change to Dani's program is that we've completely ditched gym workouts and are now focusing on running. No more fooling around in the gym because I don't see the point right now. I've already written a great cardio program for Mr. Daniel because we'll shed the excess weight first, and then in his second program (because there will be one), we'll sculpt what we can, or as much as his sagging skin allows. Yes, the skin will be another story, which he'll most likely only be able to get rid of through surgery, but I've already prepared Dani for that...

Dani's report 5.1

The last month has arrived!

On one hand, I've been looking forward to it because it means I've entered the home stretch! The past 2 months were tough, but now that they're over, they weren't so hard after all. It's always the present moment that causes suffering, looking back, it's a piece of cake. And how quickly it passed!

My current weight: 94.7 kg.

I have a concrete goal now: to get below 90 kg! I'm aiming for 88 kg. Of course, I don't want to achieve this by pushing myself too hard, taking diuretics, and starving myself in the last week when I have 2.5 kg left to lose... There's no point in that, because 3 kg would come right back in 2 days. I want to do this consciously, just as I've done so far. And that's exactly why it will be incredibly difficult! It's easier to lose 6 kg from 110 kg than from 94 kg. Of course, it's still easier to manage from this weight than if I were 64 kg! :)

Today I had a huge flash: I ran 5.1 km in one go! I've never run that far in my life. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the time because I accidentally stopped the stopwatch at 22 minutes, but it took about half an hour to cover the distance. This is my biggest success in the past month! And I'm very proud. However, this raises new challenges: from now on, there's no stopping! From now on, no shorter distances! And when I think about how by the end of the run, both my nipples were rubbed almost plum-blue by my shirt... I need to do something about that.

I was nervous about today's run, by the way. Last Tuesday, I ran 3.5 km non-stop and felt like I had more in me. I just ran into - literally - a former colleague, so we chatted away the time. But encouraged by this, I decided to go to the island on Saturday and run a lap around it. See what I was capable of. I set off at 11 AM on Saturday, when I got a flat tire on the embankment under Margaret Bridge. Well, that ruined my whole day, because I had plans from the afternoon until late at night, so I had to postpone the run. I wondered if it was a sign from above that I couldn't handle the distance?

So, last night I had trouble falling asleep. In my head, I was already preparing for Tuesday's run: would I manage to run 5.1 km without stopping? And today I thought about it all day. Well, not all day, but it crossed my mind every hour; I was focused on it.

It helped a lot that Bence came running with me. I thought we'd run the whole distance together, but after a while, he started off at his own pace towards the Citadel. So I continued alone. It was interesting to see us running next to each other. Me with my 95 kg, and him with his athletic build. And it wasn't me that people stared at on the street... :)

Before the run, I asked him how he usually overcomes hitting a wall. He told me... And I laughed to myself during the run, when I felt like I should stop, that I was humming the Rocky theme song to myself, and then in the last one and a half kilometers, "The Final Countdown" by Europe! :) I'm totally crazy! :) But it worked in the end... And I wasn't even focusing on it, it just came naturally... Plus, I haven't even seen Rocky...

So, I'm nervous because the next few weeks will be tough! But the results are starting to show...
