EVOLUTION REVOLUTION

EVOLUTION REVOLUTION

I want to remind everyone that 30 days ago, when I decided to change my life and follow a completely new lifestyle, I was just an average guy from Budapest living an ordinary life with 12 kg of excess weight.

At night, I ordered pizzas, poppy seed bread pudding from Il Trenó, and had Wasabi and Guru pancakes twice a week. Generally, when it came to my daily meals, I didn't care at all whether what I was eating was diet-friendly or not. (But even in those times, I never went to a filthy McDonald's or Burger King, just saying.)

Untrained and in the monotony of everyday life, I registered the blog and prepared for everything such a workout demands from a person. I knew I would suffer from many sacrifices, strenuous workouts, plateaus, and the inevitable discomfort due to detoxification. I've made some bad decisions in life, and I'm still suffering from some of them, but starting the 66-day program and the blog was one of the best decisions I've ever made, that's for sure.

30 days, kids, 30 days. That's all it took for me to say that my life is starting to change, and things that were previously unattainable are now becoming achievable as if they were the most natural things in life. New doors are opening for me, and I find myself in areas where I haven't been for a very long time, or never before, but it's damn good to be there. It's a great feeling when you realize how many new things and opportunities life offers; you just have to notice them, or just step aside to see them. I'm starting to become a new and better person, and I'm not saying this about myself; my friends, colleagues, and people I interact with, in one way or another, are saying it.

30 days. That's how long it took for me to escape the rut of everyday life, and I owe this to the workouts that strengthened me physically, but primarily mentally. All I needed was one word. WILLPOWER. That's it. I didn't need any revolutionary cure or miracle drug, I didn't follow any color or blood diet, I simply stuck to a few decades-old basic rules.

  1. Foods rich in protein, avoiding high-carb foods, and completely eliminating all kinds of sweets. I don't think I've said anything new with this. Of course not, because it's that damn simple. What did it take for me to stick to this and persevere in the hardest hours, even when I was craving food so much I could scratch the walls? Willpower.
  2. TECHNICALLY CORRECT weight training, adhering to the most basic rules. A personalized and body-type-specific training plan, with the exercises performed TECHNICALLY CORRECTLY. Deviating from the set numbers and the exercises themselves is forbidden. There are no substitutions, no "the machine is occupied, I'll skip it," no "instead of 4x10, I'll only do 3x8." Are you stupid? (For those who do this, I recommend the part of the video at 01:11.) So what did I need for my gym workouts? Proper knowledge and willpower.
  3. Running 12 km in -7 degrees Celsius, then running another 30 km in continuous sub-zero temperatures, requires nothing else but... well? ... well what? Of course, willpower.

I can write anything to you here, but if you don't have the perseverance and the real need to change, then don't even start the whole thing. But then bear the consequences of your decisions. The downcast eyes when you like a guy, and you have no chance with him, but not necessarily because you have a few extra kilos. That doesn't matter. But because your self-esteem and self-worth are in a more pathetic state than the Hungarian national debt. Guys, it's the same for you. You can eat all sorts of crap, and then longingly yearn for those "did you see her ass, damn it?" women, then go home and solve the problem in front of the monitor. Exercise and diet are not fantastic because you'll look better. This is just an illusion, a fleeting surface. But because with exercise, you constantly overcome your limitations and push your own boundaries, and in doing so, the world will gradually open up to you. You will regularly achieve more and more, and after a while, you will seek out challenges and overcome them too. You shape yourself, you will be proud of yourself, and you have every right to be. Just as diet is not one of the coolest things because of the disappearance of fat, but because you don't stuff yourself with poisons. You feel cleaner, and your well-being will improve day by day, which will also allow you to advance in sports.

Smoking is bad because you smoke it, but the movement and the whole feeling it gives are wonderful. But with every cigarette you smoke, that misery that comes with smoking is within you. Cancer, death, circulatory collapse, malaise, headache. POISON. After every cigarette you smoke, you feel guilty and bad about yourself, just as you feel bad when you eat bad foods. We're talking about poisons here, damn it. Then comes the "I'm unhappy, so I eat chocolate" world of pity, and this spirals you deeper and deeper. You're unhappy, you eat chocolate, you gain weight from the chocolate, which makes you feel even worse, more chocolate, bad foods, and you realize that your only joy will be chocolate and food, preferably of the most harmful kind. This is a dangerous game; many people have been ruined by expecting happiness from a chocolate. This is a life full of failures, because where there is no self-esteem, self-worth, self-confidence, you will be trampled on, and they will damn well be able to, because if you don't respect yourself, if you don't feel good in your own skin, then what do you expect from others? Show them what they want to see, and make them feel all the good that you are inside. That's the essence.

Do you have to run? Yes. Will it be hard? Damn hard. Nothing is given for free; you have to fight, train, pay attention to your diet, and not eat like a pervert, sneak in little chocolate sins, and flavor and drench everything to death. Preferably forget potatoes as a side dish for life.

It took me 30 days for my redemption. 30 days, do you understand? And I'm only halfway there. 30 days is nothing, because if I succeeded, why wouldn't you? Start mentally preparing to start exercising and changing your lifestyle. Not now, for now, just have the thought, and I want you to think about it every hour. With every damn chocolate, every fattening piece of crap, feel guilty, feel bad that you ate that chocolate, consciously link the feeling of guilt and negative thoughts with chocolate and all foods that are notoriously fattening, unhealthy garbage. Because what you eat is nothing but the biggest spoiler of your everyday life. The boss is not to blame, society is not garbage, colleagues are not unbearable, and all guys are not rude, because if you looked like that, and had such inner strength, men would respect you too, and be nicer to you. Of course they would, they'd want to get you into bed. Because for every bad thing that happens to you in life, YOU are responsible. After every bite, realize that you are screwing up your life.

Dave told me today that I put too much emphasis on this whole fitness thing, even though it's important in life, but there are about 10 other things that are just as important. Yes, I replied, there are 10 other blogs for that, who know that part of life better than me. But one thing is for sure. This is one of the foundations of life, the foundation of a healthy life and mental strength, which this blog and these workouts provide. You won't actually make money with this, because all the benefits that this lifestyle and this blog might help with cannot be measured in money. Joy, pride, demeanor, goals, will, perseverance, new relationships in a new world you haven't even seen yet. This is what I talk about here day in and day out, and even though it's difficult and challenging, you only have to do it once, then you just have to maintain the shape, and that means a thousand times easier and more forgiving life. Draw strength from me, because I will not give up, and you will see the results week by week.

Do it, kids, and believe me, your whole life will change, and I guarantee it will only be for the better.

(This post was originally meant for day 29, but I got a little carried away.)
