False Prophets Fallen Angels

If someone were to ask me now how they could ruin my life, I would simply say, "Thanks, but I'm not getting into a serious relationship right now." This is how I feel about resolving the theological debate above; I wouldn't get into it now because, to be honest, I can't decide who is right. On one side, there's the immortality of thoughts and spirit, while on the other, the category with the most question marks and the fewest answers. So, I'm talking about false prophets who mislead and deceive, spreading false myths, promising change, and then ripping people off. We find people and ideologies built on human weakness, incompetence, or naivety in many areas of life, whose sole purpose is to take your money and give you nothing in return but dreams. But of course, after a while, you realize you don't even get those, and you'll feel pretty stupid. Now that I've defined Multi-Level Marketing and the essence of the Scientology Church, let's move on to our current topic, because if I only wanted to talk about dishonest and spineless thieving scammers, I'd be writing a political blog…

The world built around a healthy lifestyle is a bigger business than oil and sports betting combined. Billions of dollars disappear into the pockets of people who sell useless knowledge in a non-existent world, leaving behind pounds and shattered dreams. An industry built on the following two sentences, from which prophecies will crystallize or wither away in the millions of mazes of the world.

You have a basic calorie requirement. If you eat less, you'll lose weight; if you eat more, you'll gain weight. If you eat less and exercise, you'll lose weight faster and get in shape. If you eat less and exercise correctly, you'll personally experience that the sky is truly the limit. It's that damn simple, and a multi-hundred-billion-dollar industry, a profession, and an entire scientific field have been built on it. I don't even know where to start because I've seen so much nonsense in recent years that it's unbelievable.

Many people stand in Judea's line. Of course, many do, because there are a lot of fish, and where desperate, floundering people seeking help are looking for a foothold and salvation in exchange for their money, hungry sharks appear, eager to feed one way or another. I could list for a very long time who these quacks are who appear on the market hoping for profit from their shoddy crap. There are the MLM systems, from Amway to FLP, all the way to Herbalife. In my opinion, these companies and especially this pyramid scheme model represented by the multi-level sales network are particularly disgusting and sickening. This business ruthlessly preys on the dreams of naive and weak people, exploiting them without any remorse, while draining and destroying them. It destroys them financially, humanly due to the humiliation involved in all the "work," and what's saddest is that anyone who enters this crap and takes it seriously will sooner or later become a brainwashed cult member. A cult member for whom nothing will be sacred, as long as someone buys their product, no matter who, as long as they collect 25 points a week, as long as they reach gold level. With this pushiness, they first lose their distant acquaintances, then their relatives, then alienate their colleagues (because, of course, you can't make a living from this, you have to work something else on the side), and then with their bloodsucking, sooner or later they sacrifice their friends too.

I've seen this before, as I've also been to an FLP "church service." It was quite shocking to see what goes on at such a presentation, and to see how adults are brainwashed and shocked with the most intense methods of push marketing. I'll never forget an FLP girl whose phone wallpaper had the following inscription: "I want 50 points." She was convinced that she would live from this and devoted everything to it. The girl was at such a level that she traveled to Monte Carlo with all her saved money just to take a few pictures of herself in the Condamine quarter, at the Casino Square, and in the harbor. Then she came home, plastered her profile with the Monaco pictures, all to show new recruits how great FLP is and that she earns so much money from it that she vacations on the French Riviera. These are the most extreme and highest levels of self-deception. This is a story from 2006. Today, the girl works as a makeup artist and lives from occasional jobs.

How much are dreams worth to someone, and how much are solutions and truths bought with money worth? Everyone has to settle this for themselves. There are no miracle cures; neither Amway, nor FLP, nor New Way, nor God knows how many monkeys have founded legal cults recently, offer solutions, and they all want to fob off some revolutionary, incredible, fantastic world-patent product on you, preferably in a package for 70,000 forints. Believe me, none of it is worth a damn. Pills 43 thousand times more effective than vitamins available in pharmacies, bracelets that lower your blood sugar, patches that make you lose 5 kilos in 2 hours if you put them on yourself – it's all a joke… You believe everything, you buy everything, just so you don't have to go for a run, just so you don't have to diet because you might get hungry, and that doesn't fit into your hedonistic life. It's pathetic, my God, how pathetic this is.

Maximum profit with minimum effort. It won't work, kids, I'm telling you upfront. Because this mindset doesn't work in life, and it will fail a hundred, a thousand times over in diet. You can occasionally bluff your way through life, deceiving people, your boss, your partner, but not with diet and exercise, because the body isn't something that can be fooled. It will look exactly and be exactly as good as the quality of food you give it and the intensity of the exercises you do. You can fool yourself and your mind without any problem, but you'll never be able to fool your body and the mirror. A friend asked if she should start using that weight-loss powder she saw in the newspaper, which was supposedly effective. I said, "Show me." I looked at it and almost fell out the window. I told her, "Damn it, would you really buy anything Gáspár Győző advertises?" To this, the girl said, "But he lost 60 kilos." Yes, but aren't you bothered that he lost weight because he got a gastric band and not because of those crappy weight-loss powders? He'd still be gorging himself now, but he can't anymore.

Our generation is messed up. Full of fallen angels who have lost their integrity and impotent men without ambition. We have no wars or crises, no enemies, and no new ideals to fight for or struggle for. While our grandfathers fought in world wars for their country, their nation, and died by the millions for their children, while our grandmothers fought for women's equality, our only task would be not to look like a pile of crap, but most of us are incapable of even that. A girl just started her program, in which I'm also helping her. You should see the circus this girl puts on every day. She just started the program I wrote, and she acts as if she's discovering Penicillin. Everyone is floored by the fact that she has started this and how hard it is for her now. I tell her, "Girl, you're not saving the world; you're simply eating like a human for 10 weeks and exercising 4 times a week. This isn't the Spanish Inquisition, and you're not landing in Normandy. This is just a diet; people have accomplished harder and more complicated things in life than this."

The generational stock of the last few decades is weak, disgustingly weak. The boundaries between real suffering and genuine achievement have shifted quite a bit. Losing weight isn't something you can put on your CV next to your degree as an accomplishment. It's simply a correction for your hedonistic lifestyle. You start it, you decide, and you do it. You don't look back, you don't sniff the pizza your friends ordered, you don't stand in front of patisseries longingly, but you just keep going and doing it. Our society has become soft, and the Teleshop generation has grown up, offering solutions for how to even masturbate for you. The MLM systems, these types of pages and similar ones, the Scientology churches, and all institutions that target weak, crutch-dependent people, avoid them, because they offer non-existent alternatives and you will never, ever achieve anything with them. They package nothingness in such a way that you buy it. Their words are worth less than the air needed to utter their bullshit. There are no miracle cures, kids, you need to understand this now, and very quickly. There are no slimming powders, no slimming pills, no fat-burning treatments, no results can be achieved with an aluminum rod ordered from Teleshop or eBay, with meditation, teas, stones, and generally nothing that is not accompanied by serious determination and real performance. I promise nothing, and I don't want to sell anything. If people contact me, I don't tell anyone it won't be difficult, don't worry, because it will be damn difficult and a challenging task. But damn, this isn't the Battle of Don or a Recsk death camp. This is just a cure, a 2-month program, after which you will rebuild your life and live more consciously because you will know exactly and appreciate what it means to lose 5 kilos. It's like money. If you get it, if you win it, you spend it easily and don't care how much you spend in a day, but if you work hard for it, you will think twice even about the smallest expense. It's the same with lost kilos. If you did nothing for it, why would you appreciate it? But if you were starving at night and in the gym 3-4 times a week, then you will think about what you eat and what you don't.

This whole well-being and fitness healthy lifestyle trend has become huge lately, and I see it's gaining popularity in our country too. I'm actually happy about this, or rather, I would be, because like everything, we took our dictionary and translated this into Hungarian too. There isn't a restaurant that doesn't have diet food, and looking at online food companies, almost without exception, they bluff their way through diet menus. Yes, but not by getting quality ingredients and really paying attention to making it heart-friendly or low in calories. No. They take a green sticker and a marker, write "diet" on the food, and add 300 forints. I remember Gábor Demszky's "Istria" decision to build 40 km of bike paths in the city, which looked like they bought yellow paint and painted the sidewalks. This was the great, unprecedented bicycle path construction in Budapest. It's somewhat like this with the big diet storm. It appears to be, but that doesn't make it so. The appearance of things is the thing itself, right?

But let's not only look at the so-called world outside of fitness, because there are plenty of Ferenc Gyurcsány false prophets within the profession who, with their incompetence, can lead you astray just as much as the profit-oriented ones mentioned above. In the sea of personal trainers and lifestyle consultants, there are plenty of dead fish. Lately, especially as the blog has gained measurable readership, voices have emerged questioning my expertise and holding me accountable for speaking my mind without any coaching qualifications. Before I vomit profusely on these people, let's clarify something without trying to justify myself. I registered a blog where I present the program I envision. You see this on me, on Petra, on Dani, and on those you don't see because I deal with them in private life. This blog was created to motivate you. I publish all information that I find useful and necessary for effective weight loss. Diets, complete workout plans that anyone can freely use. I don't guard knowledge in my closet like the Holy Grail, trembling that someone might access this knowledge for free. I don't give a damn about that because I don't live from it.

These people are ridiculous and so petty, as if a piece of paper were some magic serum that enables you to motivate, to change mindsets. I know plenty of trainers who couldn't help an anorexic teenager with complexes lose weight. They just hang around the gym all day, their only added value to others' workouts is putting the dumbbells back in their place before closing. And then there's the other one who comes back from lunch with food in a bag, I ask Attila, what are you eating? He replies, "Peppered stew." Yeah, damn it, all the clients see that the personal trainer is eating greasy crap with bread. Why don't we just bring in a gas cylinder and start slaughtering a pig in the middle of the gym? But seriously, why doesn't such a person go back to selling Zepter pots or messing around with red light flashlights?

There are a few of these real idiots whose hour-and-a-half workout consists of showing off and trying to pick up girls under the guise of training. After all this, am I really the problem for this profession? Because charging money for spouting clichés known to everyone while wearing sneakers is anything but added value, and then when you leave the gym, they don't give a damn about what happens to you or how you're progressing. Sugar is bad, protein is good, don't eat after 8 PM. Is that the added value? My 3-year-old niece knows that, yet she doesn't charge money for it.

However, it would be a huge mistake not to look for the biggest scammers within ourselves, because most of the time, we don't even need a well-marketed machine with a lying smile to pull the wool over our own eyes, because in life, our biggest enemies are usually ourselves. You have to fight and not give up. You have to get up even if it's the twentieth time, because if you don't, sooner or later you won't even be able to get up, because a life full of bad food will first just knock you down, and then after a while, it will bury you...
