At Home with the Kid – As My Wife Experiences It, Part 5
Megosztás
We’ve had some difficult days behind us, and somehow I didn't have the capacity to write. Now that we're starting to recover, I can say this is the first day no one is crying. Spring has arrived, I'm moving better and better, and I went out into the garden with Ádám. Since his birth, plants, tree branches swaying in the wind, and bushes particularly captivate him. We walked, I picked pebbles out of his mouth, and everything started to feel good again.
I'm not the type to fall apart. I can endure pain, I fight through difficulties; it's a family trait for us, resilience. My great-grandmother, who raised my grandmother alone after my great-grandfather's early death, worked two shifts in the rubber factory. She neatly bricked up the door of the small room with her own hands when the relocations were happening. No one is coming in here, that's it, the family must be protected.
And indeed, once in my life, I was preparing to lie down and suffer for days; I shuffled home from the hospital, and Ádám immediately presented this diarrheal illness. So, can a mother be sick? Convalesce, rest?
No, because the family must be protected, and if the child is sick, then mommy gets up even from intensive care, it doesn't matter. So, I came home from Oncology on Saturday, and on Sunday, I was already sitting with the child in the pediatric ward of János Hospital, where Tomi brought Ádám in the morning because he was afraid he would become dehydrated.
