Laura 12 nappal később...

Laura 12 days later...

Day 0: 60.3 kg

Day 12: 58.1 kg

The other day, I was flipping through the latest edition of the Hungarian explanatory dictionary, or rather, I refreshed Wikipedia. After I found the name Laura under the phrase "crying into the mirror," I thought it was time to clarify some serious misunderstandings. It seems that some people here have significant problems not only with following the program but also with comprehension. Laura wasn't looking at the moon day after day with tear-filled eyes because she thought she was fat, but because for a year and a half, she had done everything to achieve a nearly perfect figure, and her efforts didn't result in weight loss, or even minimal change. Laura is a very attractive woman, genuinely without excess weight. However, she doesn't just want to be good; she wants to be very good, for which she has worked tremendously hard recently, as I mentioned, without results. Her breakdown and despair were due to this. This is what happens when you cobble together all sorts of nonsense from crappy websites. I guess the question has already arisen: why didn't she go to a personal trainer if she was so desperate for a good figure? She did. Laura spent at least 150,000 Forints on trainers in the last six months, naturally without results!!! Of course, without results, because 70% of trainers in gyms don't give a damn about you or your needs. The truly important things, that certain added plus, cannot be acquired in a 3-week quick course by mail. You go to a trainer, tell them what you need, they listen, then what does the idiot do? They go home, print out their generic workout plan and diet, and shamelessly charge thousands of forints for it. Then they stand there with a bored expression, occasionally grunting something, and charge 3-4000 for that. Most of them are charlatan, worthless jerks who only became personal trainers because they were unemployed for a while and needed to pay the bills. No heart, no calling, just waiting for the paid hour and a half to be over. Creating a workout plan and assessing personal needs is like cooking. If you love it and put yourself into it, if you want to cook something good, it shows in the food, just as it shows if you cook out of obligation. This is where quality separates from mediocrity...

Laura must have run into something like this, because how is it that after a year of training, she can't do 5 proper sit-ups in a row, and the lunges she used to do with 5-6 kilos, she can't technically perform correctly now without weights. So, we had to start the training by correcting fundamental coordination and technical problems, but brutally from the basics, like proper side raises. This whole thing reminded me of a colleague at Vodafone who had an intermediate German language exam, and when a German client came, damn, he couldn't even manage to say "das fenster" or "zwei bier acht mark." The training shows on Laura because she has the strength, but her technique is astonishingly weak, but this is not her fault, but the fault of the asshole who "trained" her in the past few months. I would love to put his idiotic face up here, saying yes, this is the one no one should go to, but Lau refuses to say who it was.

12 days out of 70 have passed, and I can already see that the weakest point of the program will be Laura's health. Smoking has already completely ruined her lungs, and this shows incredibly during intense workouts. I don't want to scare the little girl, but if she continues like this, she will almost certainly get sick within 5 years, and it won't be a cold. I am responsible for Laura's program, and not just for these 10 weeks. I want everyone who participates in my program to quit all the crap that kills them in the short run. That's why I decided that if Laura doesn't reduce her cigarette intake to 5 cigarettes a day, then I'm done with her. She has 2 weeks to comply. I can check this very easily, as I'm going running with her on the island today. Running is the best way to tell if someone is slacking or not. Oh, and her boyfriend Miki, who has been begging her to quit for years, he'll be my eyes at home. That's it, you can throw a tantrum and fuss about not being able to quit. This is the program, from now on it's up to Laura whether we can finish the program together or not.

I wanted to write a post titled "Drugs or Me" which would have been solely about smoking, but I'll write it now too: you will never achieve truly good results while smoking. Cigarettes are so harmful and ruin circulation, the heart, blood vessels, lungs, and everything else so much that the body's overall performance can drop by 40-60%, and these percentages are certainly necessary for progress. Even weed is better than cigarettes because at least it doesn't contain cyanide. But smoking doesn't just mess up workouts; it also interferes with dieting. The tar and all the other crap in it destroy the intestinal villi responsible for nutrient absorption. I'll put it simply: imagine 10 tubes through which food passes. These tubes absorb vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fatty acids, proteins—everything the body needs for healthy functioning and development—from the food. If you smoke, these tubes get blocked, and instead of 10, only three will function. You can eat 4 million grams of vitamins, but if the tubes can't absorb them, they will pass through you unused, as if you hadn't eaten them at all.

Aside from these, we are progressing well. -2 kg and an average of 3 cm disappeared from Laura, even though we haven't even been able to do full-fledged work in the gym yet, as we've only been correcting faulty movements and bad habits. Running, as it is, is a disaster because it's truly a huge horror for a 25-year-old woman to only be able to run 500 meters with walking breaks… In the next 2 weeks, Laura will receive an ultimatum, which is today at 7:30 PM on the island, then we'll start improving her running and also go cycling in the mountains. I've put Laura's workouts together so she trains in the gym when I do, so if she doesn't know something, she just walks over and asks. As for the girls' hostile outbursts, not just here on the blog but also, for example, on the NőkLapjaCafé forum, well, I wasn't really surprised by that. To tear down a girl who simply wants to be better, well, there's truly nothing more murderous than the world of women...

Laura's report

The cursor is blinking in front of me; I should be writing a report, as two weeks have passed. So, day by day, I feel better in my own skin. Sometimes, while I'm doing things around the apartment and pass a mirror, I'm surprised to notice how much flatter my stomach is and how much smaller my "love handles" are, how much firmer my butt is. And it's still far from over :) These few moments always cheer me up, and I shovel in half a box of cottage cheese and 10 dkg of ham with less disgust early in the morning.

Seeing the change, I'm becoming more determined, more motivated. I wouldn't have believed it, but I'm looking forward to my runs, although I wouldn't call them runs yet. I, who for years just wondered why people run laps and what enjoyment they could possibly get from it, had no idea why they did it beyond necessity. Then it was prescribed for me, wasn't it... I was really scared the first time, I dreaded it the most. But I'm getting better, and I've decided I don't care how long it takes, for now, completing the distance is the goal. At such times, I pick some good music, turn off my brain, and... I die.

Regarding the diet, I'm like, if this is what it takes, I'll do it. No relapses, no cheating, although it's damn hard not to drool while staring at other people's plates. I don't crave fatty or carb-bomb foods anyway, but when the fridge is full of fruit, sometimes it's hard to just reach for milk. When I thought I was eating so healthy, I was once capable of eating 2 kg of cherries at once, then I realized how much sugar they contain. I slipped on these banana peels. Hmmm...banana...And since I was a young princess, I've been unable to eat the same thing the next day, I don't know why, as I didn't live in a bubble as mommy's spoiled darling. If there was no other menu, I preferred not to eat. But now... day one: chicken, day two: chicken, day three: what am I eating today? Oh, yes! Chicken. This part isn't easy for me because of that, but I'm just repeating myself: must.

Bence and I had a few joint training sessions where he showed me the correct exercises. Well, I had some surprises. Primarily, that I had to significantly reduce the weights I had been using, because if I do it correctly, I can barely move them. I'm very glad I finally decided and contacted him. I quickly realized that this is the foundation of everything. You can fool around at home, write your own workout plan and diet, and maybe even get results, but never like with a trainer. Well, almost a year went by for me for basically nothing, while I firmly believed I was doing everything. It was very disheartening. But now... in two weeks, I have better results than ever before. Is it worth it? Hell yes.

Today was the day for taking pictures. Last night I was whining to myself and would have gladly postponed it by at least a week. I stepped on the scale, phew, this is good, let's keep going. Then came the tape measure. Well, I raised an eyebrow at my chest, but that part doesn't interest me that much. The other results pleased me :) Here come the pictures...

When I saw the final result on the camera display, my smile wasn't entirely genuine. I put them on the computer, looked at them and looked at them... But where's the change? Where are those two kg, where are the minus centimeters, and where is what I saw on myself? I won't deny it, I got a little bitchy and called Bence to ask what the situation was. We agreed that I should send the pictures, and I waited for his answer like the Messiah. Well, I got what I deep down felt anyway. What do I expect after 2 weeks? Fair enough. I can be so incredibly impatient with myself, but this isn't that kind of story.

I would write thank you for the encouragement so far, but most people would send me to the asylum because I dare to dream of an athletic body for myself. Thanks for the free analysis, by the way. And to those who are with me in spirit: THANK YOU! :)
