– Do you smoke?
Mariann: – No, only when I play poker.
And yes, that was the moment I was absolutely sure Mariann would have a definite place in Slim3 Generations.
I love women who don't put on the masks of pretense, which is an essential accessory of female existence; I love women who aren't scared shitless by the fact that they were born women, but most of all, I appreciate women who, after turning 35, don't let their age and the entrenched thoughts that come with it define their lives. We Hungarians love to playact immensely, to play a role for the outside world that the dark majority forces upon us and wants to see from us. The communist petty-bourgeois attitude to life hasn't faded from everyday life even after 23 years, and we are only now tasting the true intellectual thought that the West has experienced for a long time. We are at least 50 years behind developed countries, and unfortunately not just economically, but primarily in our thinking. Only those who have not just spent two weeks in Greece on a last-minute trip, but have, say, absorbed for months or years the atmosphere that we have no chance of absorbing at home, unless it's in the form of a dick, at the end of which are usually the governments of the day.

To live our lives in such a way that our age doesn't even minimally influence our actions. This is terribly difficult to achieve at home, because we are the grandmasters of staring blankly at each other if we see something that doesn't fit into the good old average Hungarian gray shit worldview. Being an individual here is almost impossible and is equated with being an outcast lunatic; here, modesty is cool and hiding our possessions, just so people don't look at us askance; here, success is a dirty word, and the failure of others is celebrated, because then none of these incompetent, petty jerks have to face the failure of their own lives. God, I can't tell you how much I hate everyone here. We are a country of 10 million bitter people, and it will always be this way. Oh no, sorry, only 9 million 500 thousand, because half a million have already left.
The point is, Mariann is a damn cool person because she embodies all that free-spirited, eternally youthful feeling that I really appreciate in a person, because let's be honest, when we think of a 58-year-old person, we don't imagine someone who wants to skydive from a plane at 4000 meters, but Mariann is preparing for that, among other things, that's why she wants to lose weight. This kind of affirmation of life is the essence. Experiencing life regardless of age and the aforementioned categorization that affects age groups. This is the true source of youth.
I could elaborate on this for a while, but the bottom line is that Mariann, at 58, is easily younger than 80% of today's twenty-somethings, and this could even be to Mariann's credit, if our generation weren't such a fucked-up generation.
Mariann
I'm Mariann, a 58-year-old mother of two grown daughters and a grandchild. I don't even know where to begin my introduction. They say you are what you eat... well, in that case, a detailed introduction would be too long, because I am very versatile. 🙂
Unfortunately, for me, balanced eating meant that if I had a cookie in one hand, I’d grab another in the other to maintain balance. I’ve tried to lose weight many times, but for years I haven’t succeeded. I’ve tried exercising, all sorts of diets, but so far, during my diets, I’ve only lost the number of days I wasted on weight-loss regimens.
But now, with numerous attempts and experiences behind me, I know what I need. Boundaries, external support, and control. It seems like a small thing, but it's very important. If I don't have to figure out what to eat, how to exercise, etc., then starting out already seems much easier. And it's important that someone trusts and supports me. I've been able to fool myself so far by thinking that a small snack here and there isn't cheating in a strict program, but I wouldn't do the same to someone who is selflessly working to help me. I am very grateful to Tomi for giving me the opportunity in the LifeT!Lt program, and I will do everything I can to set a good example and empower others, but of course, I primarily want to succeed for myself.

I want to close my old way of life and start a new life in a new body. The 90-60-90 might only be my phone number now, but if I manage to lose 15-20 kilos, that would be salvation for me, because my body is the suitcase I carry for the rest of my life, and the heavier it is, the shorter the journey will be. But I want to be able to chase my great-grandchild around the playground even after my grandchild, and even make them a delicious roasted pork belly... oops, I mean salad.
