Today marks the end of my 70-day Lifetilt program, and I'm writing my final report on my experiences. I've already covered the essentials in previous posts. That it wasn't suffering, there was no starving, no crying, and no gnashing of teeth. There were difficult moments, there were sacrifices, yes. But there were results, it made sense, and there was a lot of positive feedback. In 70 days, I got back my old self, full of energy, cheerful, and confident, ready to jump into XS-sized tops :) The main point, of course, isn't what size top you wear, girls. Although I don't want to sound arrogant, even before Lifetilt, I received a lot of compliments on my appearance, even in L-sized tops, but something still wasn't right. If I sat down at a negotiation table, I'd fidget, trying to adjust my blouse over my love handles; at the beach, if possible, I'd stick to wearing a towel; and even at home, in front of my boyfriend husband, I didn't feel completely free unless something covered the right places.
I wanted to get rid of these frustrations and discomforts and achieve self-acceptance. And this wasn't solely because of the wedding, but I'd been starting diets every first of the month for years... (and only keeping them up until the sixth), but a wedding, a wedding, that can't be postponed.
Now I feel good in my own skin, although I know very well there's still room for improvement. Our wedding was fantastic, everything was wonderful, and yes, it also required me to be at peace with myself and not fidget because of my double chin / underarm hair / love handles / saggy arms.
So, Girls, you see, Lifetilt is not the philosopher's stone, nor is it a scratch-off lottery ticket where it works for one person but not another. Lifetilt is damn simple. And that's precisely why it's great. Because for those who commit to it, success is guaranteed. Thank you for everything, Tomi.
