Summer Project
Megosztás

In January 2011, I escaped into a blog from the reality of everyday life, where I could write what I wanted, about what I wanted, and when I wanted, without any obligations. No one told me what the topic should be, and I didn't give a damn if what I wrote offended anyone, and I was least interested in whether the content of the posts was politically correct or not. It was a free world, or a bucket if you prefer, that I could puke into from time to time when the public intoxication reached a critical level on my already not-so-high tolerance threshold for society. Like all good things in life, of course, this couldn't last forever, especially not with me, because if something is good, I usually instinctively smash it to pieces and create obstacles in front of myself that I can neither jump over nor go around. I was free and independent, and then I signed a contract in which, among other things, I undertook to write at least 2 posts per week for a docureality show called Summerproject. I have a bit of a feeling about the ordered posts, like it's New Year's Eve, where there's a mandatory party, and you drink out of compulsion, and you go out into the night among idiotic assholes in -23 degrees out of compulsion. I, for one, have never had a New Year's Eve that was even tolerably bad, let alone good, because either I threw up prematurely, or the night ended in a fight, or, or, or, or... there are many 'ors' and they all end badly...
The producer asked me to write about the show itself in the first post, and why the protagonist (Peti from now on) is getting this particular program, and what I want to achieve with him. But before I force myself to address the topic, I want to write a few things about this whole thing. The show was originally supposed to be about a guy with a significant amount of excess weight, who we would help lose weight and transform him into a human form by the end of the show. The show would follow this change and the improvement in quality of life that such a transformation entails. So, there's a fat guy who feels bad in his own skin, has no self-confidence, therefore no charisma, his self-assurance is below rock bottom, in short, he has no girlfriend and also, he just doesn't look good. He comes on the show, loses weight, his self-confidence grows due to sports performance, his skin clears up from the diet, he loses 10-15 kilos and starts living his life in a new body, a higher quality life, where a new person was born as a result of the program. Perfect formula, after all, that's what my blog is about, and I liked the idea. We agreed, started casting, and looked for the right person for this concept, someone who could achieve all this while also being media-friendly.
And what happens? A guy comes in, sits opposite us, and utters the two words that ultimately made him the main character of the show. The magic words were: "I'm a lifeguard." That's it, the pen fell from the producer's hand, and after a spontaneous mental orgasm, he imagined what a great sellable story this would be for advertisers, and anyway, let's close the doors because we've found our main character. I look at him and ask, "Doesn't it bother you that the guy has no excess weight?" But he's a lifeguard, and the advertisers... Aha... Oh, so he's a lifeguard, damn it, I didn't hear it the first time... Well, then we're all set, we don't even need to shoot the show. It didn't matter that the production manager, three cameramen, a sound engineer, and the sound engineer's girlfriend told him, "But damn it..." Adid (the producer) didn't care about anything, after all, only I was entrusted with choosing the face. This is how it happened that now Petya is the face of Summerproject, and not the guy I favored, who, by the way, has since lost 14 kg.
Don't get me wrong, Peti is a great kid, and it's super easy to fool around with him; I have no problem with him personally. For example, the first video turned out so well because the filming was also in a good mood, but the show is not originally about a guy who, by the way, graduated from TF and is externally fine. Because how much more spectacular is it to carve a statue out of a rock than to mess with an existing statue, making minimal renovation repairs? I don't even need to tell you that there's no talk of lifeguarding anymore. That's pretty much it, and that's the extent of the shitting in the nest I planned regarding the show, and from now on I will try to focus on the more positive things.
Roughly, I can tell you about Mr. Hammer's program that since the guy doesn't need to lose weight but to build muscle and shape his body, this will not be about classic hummingbird-sized meals, but about usable quality foods and varying quantities of their intake. The program will be divided into two parts. First, we will scrape off the 3-5 kg of excess weight on Petya, and then a very serious muscle-building phase will follow, which will be based on gym workouts, but I plan to include CrossFit-type workouts in the program later on. I will start this program with Peti, meaning I will follow the same diet and the same workouts for 10 weeks as he does. On the one hand, this will show whether Peti actually does the workouts and adheres to his diet. If he messes up the program, it will be immediately visible because if he doesn't develop as I do, you will also see it because the difference will be striking. At the casting, I asked every applicant who wasn't completely an asshole and/or whom we didn't immediately remove from the list the following question: "Are you even aware of what you're getting yourself into?" I'm afraid Peti doesn't really know what awaits him, but he will face it during his first few diet-accompanied workouts because these 10 weeks will be a little harder than just running twice a week and showing off at the gym four times a week.
The Summerproject is an interactive format involving social media, which means our workouts will be public. Every week, I will precisely describe where, what, and when we will train. These are public workouts that anyone can join anytime. For example, if we go cycling on Wednesday, it will be posted that today we are going to the Buda hills for a cycling workout and we are leaving from Kolossy Square at 6:00 PM, or at 7:30 PM we will be training chest at the gym on Szépvölgyi Road. The same will apply to runs and any potential CrossFit workouts. Join us and train with us. You can continuously follow where we are and where we are training on Summerproject.hu, and anyone can join us anytime and even complete the entire program with us, provided their time and perseverance allow it. This is a new pioneering format that no one has really tried at home yet, and we'll see how much people embrace this kind of lifestyle.
Until then, a sip?
